Sao Paulo, April 28

A Brazilian model died Sunday after collapsing on the catwalk during a parade on the last day of Sao Paulo Fashion Week, the organizers said.

"SPFW just received the new death of the model Tales Soares, who suddenly became ill during the Ocksa show," said the organization in a statement, without giving the cause of death.

The 26-year-old dummy fell while turning to leave the track. The doctors immediately treated him in front of horrified spectators, according to local media reports.

SPFW said that he had been taken to the hospital, where he had been declared dead. "We offer our sincere condolences to the family of Tales," said the Ocksa label. The entire Ocksa team was "shocked" by the death of Soares, who signed a contract with the Base MGT modeling agency. AFP
