"It was really powerful and exciting. And it also allowed me to have opportunities because the film is so big that I knew I could share some concepts on a much larger scale than I had previously done in independent films and even that this could be postponed in press tours.

"I have never had a press tour of this type where we were able to work to achieve parity along the way. I feel so lucky to have made my first big hit movie and talk about feminism all day long. I would never have thought that it was like a possibility for me. That's what I dreamed about, said Larson at PTI during a group interview.

With Captain Marvel, which is an original story set in the 1990s, the actor became the first woman to direct an autonomous Marvel superhero movie.
