Brightburn review summary: James Gunn's horror film receives a generally positive response

Brightburn overthrows the myth of Superman. Brightburn, co-produced by James Gunn, looks in all respects to the story of DC's iconic superhero.

Like Clarke Kent, Brandon Breyer also falls from the sky of a foreign world and grows on a Kansas farm. It also has super powers, with thermal vision.

Only he is a bad guy. Instead of using his powers to do good and help people, he kills them in multiple ways, each without mercy.

The premise itself is interesting, although it is not particularly new. There have been several Supermen bad guys in DC Comics alone.

The synopsis of the film says, "And if a child from another world had crashed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero for humanity, he was turned out to be something far more sinister? "

David Yarovesky directed the film. It stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner.

To this day, Brightburn holds a score of 67% at Rotten Tomatoes, the consensus being: "Brightburn does not completely deliver on the black promise of its setup, there is still enough to offer a fun subversion of the super genre -hero. "
