Badshah, the Punjabi rapper-singer originally from hit songs, including DJ Waley Babu Kar Gayi Chull Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Ha and Mercy has a new interest. While Badshah has already marked the hearts of his fans with his singing talent, the rapper is about to impress the audience with his acting talents. Badshah will debut with the untitled film of the new director Shilpi Dasgupta. The film also stars Badshah's dear friend and Bollywood diva Sonakshi Sinha.
As the team started filming for the movie starting Jan. 25, Badshah joined the cast today. The rapper-songwriter will try the role of a famous singer from Punjab – much like Badshah himself. Recognizing how nervous and excited he was, Baadshah said, "I am extremely nervous, but I have taken the plunge, and this year I began many firsts, beginning with producer and now actor. and Mrigh have continued to convince me.It is a film so unique and different that, whenever I think about it, makes me smile, it allows me to work with a very talented band and my boyfriend Sonakshi, who is a very dear friend and the others, like Varun Sharma. The Badshah film is funded by Bhushan Kumar, a producer who has worked with the singer on various projects. He was confident in the choice he had made and said that he knew very well the traits of Badshah. "When I read the character's script and sketch, the only person who came to mind was Badshah, just like his character on the screen, he's a jovial and funny punjabi. It took a while to convince him to take on the role, but I'm glad he finally came on board, "said the film's producer.
Alongside Badshah and Sonakshi, the film also features Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Nadira Babbar. The untitled film should be released on August 2nd.
