Captain Marvel will be the original story of one of the most powerful superheroes of the Marvel film universe. It's not just Carol Danvers we meet. We start meeting a young Nick Fury well before he has an eye patch and is in charge of SHIELD. Not only do we see this character in a new light, but we are also looking at what the Marvel universe was like at that time. There are huge time gaps where we have no idea what this world looked like. We will now explore this through the eyes of Carol and Nick. Yahoo had a chance to talk to Samuel L. Jackson and was asked why this version of Nick Fury was different.

Executive Producer Jonathan Schwartz went to talk about this mini original story for Nick Fury. He is a major player in the Marvel universe, but we do not know much about him. This movie will show us a little what that man was before asking Tony Stark to talk about the Avengers initiative.

Marvel films have played with the idea of time many times. We have seen several old-fashioned actors, but Captain Marvel is the first time that a character is disintegrated throughout the film. Jackson is not the only one to have Clark Gregg also back under the name of Phil Coulson and to be aged.
"Luckily, Clark and Sam look amazing, which helps us a lot," said Schwartz. "It's certainly more blows than we have had to do in other movies. We have aged Robert, who looks amazing, and Kurt, who also looks great. We were very lucky with the actors who went through this process. But it will be much more in a movie than we have ever done before, which is a fun challenge. But I do not think we can ever ask anyone to take Sam Jackson's place, so I'm glad we did. "
Fury has his own bow in this film and watches it evolve to become the person we will meet later in Iron Man . Carol Danvers will play an important role in this evolution.
"We meet Nick Fury at a very interesting time in his life," said Schwartz. "It's a bit like in the mid-90s, the cold war is over, the fight against terrorism has not started yet. It's a slow time for global espionage. And I think that Fury is sort of wondering what his place is in the world, in a world where he feels maybe a bit obsolete. And then extraterrestrials come down from space. Jackson added, "The next problem will be convincing everyone that this is true.
Finally, we asked Jackson what was the best thing to play this version of Nick Fury. Jackson has unfortunately been absent from the Marvel Universe since . Avengers: Age of Ultron . His first answer was payday. However, he then explained how this period of Fury's life would really shape him.
"Yeah, [the] payday is fine. The most pleasant thing about him … he is not overwhelmed by the weight of the world as he is [in later movies] and he did not end up bothering with the powers that are conferred on him to see their vision of the world and what he does. And the seriousness of the situation. They are totally unaware of this for the moment. His next challenge is to convince them that we need to recruit people with extraordinary gifts who can help us defend not only the country but the world. "
It will be very fun to see different versions of characters known in this movie.The trip is important and see what makes Fury the man that he is and Coulson the man that it will only make them more interesting as characters.
