The longest lunar eclipse of your life will take place on July 27-28, 2018. If this is the first time, it's even better because timing can not be better. The eclipse is a weekend and starts just after dinner time (if you are in India). Unlike the eclipse of the sun, the eclipse of the moon can be seen on a very large surface and for a very long time. The upcoming eclipse is more than six hours. Before learning how you can observe this beautiful celestial phenomenon, let's understand some basic notions
What is a lunar eclipse?
A lunar eclipse is caused by the alignment of the sun, earth, and moon in the same order. the alignment must be very precise. Even if it is extinguished by fraction of degree, a total lunar eclipse could become partial (no red moon). As sunlight filters through the Earth's atmosphere, it is dispersed and absorbed. Only the red light and the orange colors pbad through, giving the moon its characteristic red color during the total phase of the eclipse.

What's so special about this eclipse?
This Lunar Eclipse is really long and the reason is that it happens in the micro-moon phase. This means that the Moon is about as far from Earth as it is in this orbit. This happens because of the elliptical orbit of the moon around the Earth. The shadow of the Earth covers the Moon for a longer duration in this case and the eclipse is longer.
You made an observation all night if you want to observe all phases of the eclipse. My advice to all who read this is to make the effort. I would not be surprised if you became an eclipse hunter like me after the experience. The eclipse is also visible over a very large part of the Earth due to the circumstances.
Is the eclipse safe to watch?
The eclipse is totally safe to look at, unlike the partial phase of a solar eclipse. look at the moon eclipsed as long as you want. You can also eat whatever you want. Millions of people do it by watching the eclipse and they are doing very well. The same is true for pregnant women and sick people. In fact, there is a minimum of four eclipses each year (Solar + Lunar), so just enjoy the beautiful view of this heavenly event.

- Any Camera (Including Smartphone Camera)
So, you want to take a picture?
This photo is perfect for casual photographers and you can use basic equipment (camera phone) to capture the eclipse. If you have a camera and tripod, simply point it to the moon, set it to AV mode and press the shutter button to have an eclipse shot. For the phone, make sure the flash is off. The camera software should do the rest. You can also use a simple digital camera if you do not have an expensive DSLR or a telescope. Another smart way to take an eclipse picture is by placing your phone on one of the eyepieces of your toy binoculars. Remember, point and shoot. It's actually so simple.
You can try any of these lenses that can be ordered online or brought from a phone accessory store. The result is pretty good and can be used during the day too.

- The black box means you will never see the eclipse. You might want to reconsider this overseas trip that you have planned so long.
- The white area means that you will be able to see the entire eclipse from beginning to end.
- If you are in areas where black and white fusion, you will see the eclipse either at moonrise or at the moonset.

Some tips for observing the lunar eclipse:
An eclipse is a painfully slow process, check its progress once every 5-10 minutes to see a visible difference.
Try to switch from one instrument to another to enjoy the beauty of the eclipse.
Train to observe the eclipse a day before the event. . You will have an idea of where the moon will appear and where it will be at particular times (the moon will rise about 40 minutes earlier the day before).
