At a recent awards ceremony, the actor was asked about several aspects of Dayaben's return in the series. He said that she would surely come back and added "patience ka phal daya hota hai (patience pays)".
Several reports have previously indicated that Disha Vakani, who played this role prior to her maternity leave, may not return to the series because of her differences with officials because of her timing and pay.
Recent reports also suggest that the actress has been granted a 30-day notice period to return to the series, post where she is presumed to be replaced. However, there was no confirmation of the same from the directors and the actress.
Disha has disappeared from Taarak since October 2017. In the show, it is shown that she went to stay with her mother in Ahmedabad. Considering it's a popular sitcom, many viewers have called for the return of Disha.
In fact, it seems that the actress has also missed her role as Daya because she frequently publishes clips and footage of the series on her Instagram account. It remains to be seen when and how the character will be reintroduced this time.
