As expected, Kalank had the greatest opening in 2019. The film had seen a good hype around him for a few weeks and had witnessed an organic progression en route. This is also reflected in the numbers, which were always good since morning, and therefore, a healthy R number. 21.60 crores entered.
The film has already surpbaded the figures of the first day of great as Kesari (Rs. 21.06 crores), Gully Boy (Rs. 19.4 crores) and Total Dhamaal (Rs. 16.5 crores). In fact, the first two of the list are the two Dharma Productions featuring both Kalank and Kesari produced by Karan Johar.
The film would have a dip today since yesterday it was a partial vacation. Tomorrow should be huge again since it is Good Friday. After that, even if Saturday and Sunday are at the same level as Wednesday, a long long weekend would be at stake for this film directed by Abhishek Varman.
