WWE RAW REPORT OF HEYDORN
APRIL 1, 2019
WASHINGTON DC
AIRED ON USA NETWORK

Advertisers: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young

[HOUR ONE]

– Audience by Michael Cole's Audience the program, Stephanie McMahon hit the ring at a boos reaction. Cole said that she was about to make news, as she was heading up the ramp. From there, Stephanie started talking and said she could not believe they were within six days of WrestleMania. Stephanie then said that she was going to add to the threat's triple match, but then said it was an April Fool's joke. Subsequently, Stephanie said that it was about the main match of the main women's event against WrestleMania and announced that a woman would bring back all the gold.

Heydorn badysis: In a world where Stephanie could have easily overwhelmed this segment, she focused on the match and the wrestlers. April Fool's joke was what she was, but most of her lyrics were centered on the stars. Ensuring that the winner of the match takes everything increases even more and, with the two champions involved, that makes sense. This set the tone for Sunday's main event.

When Stephanie finished speaking, her music rang and advertisers signaled the winner to win all major events at WrestleMania. From there, Brock Lesnar's music was very popular. Heyman was accompanied by Paul Heyman and, as he headed for the ring, the ad team entrusted his next match of WrestleMania to Seth Rollins. When Lesnar arrived in the ring, Heyman took a microphone and went through his typical intro. Heyman then said it was a poetic justice that Stephanie said the winner was taking everything. He said Sunday, Brock Lesnar would be the winner and take everything Seth Rollins has to offer. He said that Lesnar would take Seth's best shot, then proceed with everything that was important to him. Heyman then badyzed all the things Lesnar had taken from the people of WrestleMania. This list included the Undertaker's test and Roman's chance to win the universal title last year. From there, Heyman went on to say that at WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar would end Seth Rollins' career. Heyman then said that Lesnar would rap Seth Rollins and desecrate WrestleMania. Finally, Heyman gave Rollins an afterthought for Brock before being interrupted by Rollins himself.

Heydorn badysis: A typical Heyman case that worked. He built Lesnar as an unstoppable monster, as always, but arranged Seth well for it to take advantage of the heat that he produced. Simple but well done. Nothing innovative though.

Rollins received a nice pop from the crowd and entered the ring to face Heyman and Lesnar. He said Sunday was the biggest game of his career and that it was also Lesnar's biggest game. Rollins said no one wanted to Lesnar in the vicinity. He said people were fed up with Brock Lesnar, as was the locker room. While Brock laughed, Rollins told him to enjoy it because Sunday was over and things would change for him forever. He called Lesnar the most decorated star in WWE history and is unlikely to beat him, but it was not improbable. Rollins said he was going to beat Lesnar, win his title and he could not do anything about it. Once again, Lesnar burst out laughing and threw his elbow at the shoulder as he left the ring. Rollins then attacked Lesnar and the fight started. Rollins was caught with a German suplex and was then raised for an F-5. Rollins retorted and slammed weakly before kicking Lesnar's face and hitting him with the Stomp. As the crowd roared, Rollins brandished the universal title on Lesnar and then left under the deafening gaze of Lesnar. The show then went to the break. c)

Heydorn badysis: Again, nothing innovative. That said, an effective promotion for babyface, but surprised not to venture on the territory of the Rollins, again emphasizing how the Sunday match represents for him a personal point of view. It was a nice touch at this point that defined the game as important. In terms of physical injury, I'm never going to get into a real baby face like Rollins with a heel tactic. I can understand the idea, but the WWE regularly uses the blow down to advance the heels. Rollins shooting here dilutes the momentum that he had to get off Lesnar. Did I just say momentum?

– Outside the break, Rollins was interviewed behind the scenes. Rollins was told that if he did what he did on Sunday, he would not be a champion because he would be disqualified. Rollins said that Lesnar had him come and that he was not there yet.

Heydorn badysis: Proper tracking of Seth using a low shot for Lesnar was necessary to justify booking this segment. . It was not enough to tell this story.

– After the interview, Sasha Banks and Bayley were shown heading to the ring. Once there, they were followed by Natalya and Beth Phoenix. The two Iconics members, Nia Jax and Tamina, were already in the ring.

(1) SASHA BANKS, BAYLEY, NATALYA and BETH PHOENIX against NIA JAX, TAMINA and THE ICONICS

Banks opened the ball against Peyton Royce and quickly scored Bayley in the match. The two women doubled Royce with a few moves before Banks came back to maintain his momentum. After a few kicks, Banks scored Nattie in the match and Nattie crushed Billie Kay with a suplex. Afterwards, Phoenix came in and placed Kay in a submission to the arm before lifting her. Royce began to belittle Kay while Banks and Phoenix were discussing strategy as the show was about to end. (c)

At the break, the heels controlled the match with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, owners of Bayley, after several rounds of strikes. They both played in the match and made their iconic pose before attempting a lapel pin, but Bayley was eliminated at two o'clock.

Heydorn's badysis: My God, this pose bothers me a lot. I guess that's the goal? Reluctantly, I will say that it is well done.

Finally, Kay discussed strategy with Jax and Tamina. This allowed Bayley to create space after hanging Kay from the ropes. From there, Bayley tried to register Sasha in the match, but Phoenix took the tag instead. Banks looks surprised as Phoenix slays Royce with a power slam. She then hit the ropes, but was pulled by Tamina. From there, Phoenix led Tamina through the barricade of the ring under the gaze of her shocked teammates. With Phoenix on the floor, Royce threw her into the ring and mocked her with slaps in her face. In response, Phoenix crushed with Glam Slam for victory 1, 2, 3.

WINNER: Banks, Bayley, Natalya and Phoenix via Pinfall

– After the match, the team winner stared at the ring with Banks and Bayley holding their top titles in the air.

Heydorn badysis: There is no need to create a hype around the WrestleMania match on Sunday between these four teams. Phoenix was the favored center of return, but tag value was sacrificed to tell its story. Six days apart, it was necessary to illuminate the whole match and not a star.

-Batista was shown arriving at the arena while the show was going to break. (c)

– On leaving the break, Batista hit the ring with a nice pop of the crowd from his neighborhood. As he headed for the ring, advertisers broadcast Triple H's highlights to Batista on last week's show

. Batista could easily get some cheers here, which is totally opposed to the story told. Bad timing? Bad planning? Both.

Once Batista arrived in the ring, the lights dimmed and a projector appeared on him to the applause of the public. From there, Batista stopped, pointed at the screen and spotted a hype video of Batista beating Triple H repeatedly. After the video, Batista removed his red glbades and said, "Hunter, kiss my bad." His music then replayed as he put the glbades back on and put on the ropes. c)

Heydorn badysis: Sometimes three chords make a better song than ten chords. The same rule applies here. Batista did not need a long promo to advance the story, so why make one? The four words that he said added drama and a little attitude with advantage. Good game.

– After the break, Elias was shown in front of the MetLife stadium. He talked about his performance at WrestleMania and said no one would interrupt him. From there, he said that after WrestleMania, everyone would talk about him and his WrestleMania moment.

Heydorn badysis: As I said last week, remember the legend of the return once Elias will be in the ring on Sunday.

(2) JINDER MAHAL AGAINST APOLLO CREWS – Other competitors of ATGMBR surrounding the ring

Mahal took the advantage first and the crews hit the floor with a latch on the chin. Eventually, Crews reversed the move and kicked Mahal before hitting him with a flying clothesline. From there, the shooter touched the frog of the rope and pierced the spit for victory 1, 2.

WINNER: Crews via Pinfall

-After the match, Crews posed with the ATGMBR trophy. This prompted everyone at the ring to become jealous. While other people were trying to pose with her, a fight ensued with everyone around the ring. The battle ended with the crews standing up after throwing the Singh Brothers over the top rope. He then posed again with the trophy.

Heydorn badysis: A draw, from top to bottom, as well as the post-match angle. The commentators mocked any comment on this subject and caused significant damage to any significance that this royal battle might have left. Cole tried to save him in the end by mentioning that Braun Strowman was involved Sunday, but too little too late.

-Kurt Angle was shown talking to Rey Mysterio while the show was about to end. c)

– At the end of the break, Kurt Angle's music sounded for the last time on Monday night. When he arrived in the ring, the audience chanted "Thank you Kurt" before speaking.

[HOUR TWO]

He said that he wanted to let everyone know that he was enjoying the good and the bad times that he had known about Raw, he said he heard rumors over the years, but also a lot of joy, and then thanked the audience before a ring announcer broadcast a video of Celebrating Angle's career

Heydorn's badysis: "It's easy to forget everything Angel did in such a short time."

After the video, the audience chanted "thank you Kurt" before Baron Corbin pampered. He said that he was sorry to interrupt his walk in memory and called the Kurt Angle in the videos and the old man From there, Corbin ran to Angle and said he could not stay with today's superstars because they were Faster, stronger and better. "Corbin then went on to the fans and told them that he was irritated about flooding his social media with statements saying he wanted a better last opponent for Angle. Corbin then said that the last image that would have Angle fans would be that of a man down lying on his back at WrestleMania. In response, Angle challenged Baron Corbin to participate in an exhibition match and Corbin seemed to accept before departing as the audience climbed. He says that if Corbin had the match, Angle would not arrive until Sunday and he would wait for WrestleMania.

Heydorn badysis: It worked. Baron Corbin is not a last brilliant opponent for Angle. That said, it gets a lot of warmth and it should be apparent to the public of WrestleMania.

From there, the success of the music of Rey Mysterio. He ran to the ring and said that someone had to teach him a lesson in respect. He then challenged Corbin on behalf of Kurt. Corbin denied the match angrily, but the miller hit Rey.

-Charlotte Flair was interviewed behind the scenes and said that Sunday, the whole world will be caught off guard when she breaks her leg and hurts Ronda. Rousey. She said that she had changed the game and that she would be the winner. From there, Charlotte qualified as professional and she is not a hot head or a loose cannon like Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. She added that after their match, the two women would be interested in staying away from her, otherwise they would not go to WrestleMania.

Heydorn badysis: Heel Charlotte is incredibly refined and efficient. Her appearance, her emotions and her words resonate well in this type of character and she looks like a major star because of that. She set the tone for stipulation later in the night, but threatened her WrestleMania moments simultaneously. Good product.

-When the interview is over, Ricochet heads to the ring. He had a good reaction and was followed by Aleister Black. Black also had a big pop. As he headed for the ring, the show was going to pause. (c)

(3) THE REVIVAL vs. RICOCHET & ALEISTER BLACK – WWE Team Championship

Official introductions were made and the match began. Black started the game against Dawson and the two men traded before Dawson took it off with a shrug. Afterwards, Dawson scored Dash in the match and he continued to maintain his momentum with a few elbows in his face. In response, Black hit Dash with a kick that knocked him down. He then labeled Ricochet. Ricochet hit Dash's arm with his elbow, but this attack was quickly reversed to revive Revival in the game. From there, Dawson resumed the match and immobilized Ricochet with injured forearms in the back. The two members of Revival then entered and left the match to hold Ricochet away. Finally, Ricochet regained control after being connected to a double hurricane on both Dash and Dawson. Afterwards, he scored Black in the match and both men hit a double team. Their control was short-lived as Black was tossed over the top rope as the show broke. c)

Heydorn badysis: so far, good action. It is clear that these teams have chemistry and the fans seem to be what they do. Generally, a recipe for success.

At the end of the break, Dash and Dawson were still tightly controlling the game. Dawson had Black in a submission hold and grounded him until Black was connected with a kick. From there, Dawson scored Dash in the match and Black and Ricochet. Ricochet hit the ring on fire and was badaulted by a series of moves, including a dancer on the hill, a variety of dropkicks and a rollup on Dash that earned two points. Ricochet rolled Dash again, but Dash was kicked out. His deportation propelled Ricochet into the ropes and Dawson illegally punched him. From there, Dash was found covered with a face, but Ricochet was expelled at two o'clock. Out of this brooch, the Revival turned their attention to Black. Dash connected with a DDT tornado off the barricade and in response, Ricochet connected with a suicide dive in flight over the ring pole and on the Revival on the outside. From there, the battle on the outside continued, Black still remaining on the ground. Finally, Dash hit Ricochet against the ring and the referee counted. While Ricochet was about to beat the count, Dawson pulled him out of the arena, which made him slip and prevented him from coming back. Because of that, the match was over.

WINNER: Revival via count out

– After the match, Black and Ricochet marked the last move by coming back while the audience accepted it.

Heydorn badysis: A really good match that seemed to save the third and fourth gear for a future date. WrestleMania maybe? This existed to build this match and was successful for that purpose.

-Ronda Rousey was shown warming up behind the scenes. She told Charly Caruso that she was not moving to talk, but only to fight. As she continued to warm up, she said that no matter what Sunday's stipulation would be, it would be the day of the final judgment for Becky and Charlotte. She then said that Judgment Day could arrive early if Becky and Charlotte get in the way later in the night. The show then went to the break. (c)

Heydorn's Analysis: Like Charlotte's promo on the same subject, Rousey was good here. She maintained her character well and alluded to a later showdown between herself, Charlotte and Becky.

-After the break, Cole and the ad team traced the events of last week between Braun Strowman and the SNL. hosts of A moment of happiness. At the end of the video, Alexa Bliss was shown behind the scenes with Tyler Breeze and EC3. Bliss denied his achievements in this year's WrestleMania and Breeze and EC3 did not care about watching Weekend Update on a friend's tablet. Braun Strowman appeared and confronted these friends with the tablet. He called them the names of SNL hosts and asked them to meet him in the ring later in the show. From there, he left.

-Roman Reigns was interviewed behind the scenes. He said that he wanted to put all the rumors aside. From there, he stated that he was allowed to act 100%. Drew McIntyre then attacked Reigns and shot him, shouting, "You should have said no, Roman." McIntyre was then detained by officials as Reigns slowly got up.

Heydorn badysis: great intensity of Drew. The way he screamed at Reigns was pleasant to the touch and perfectly matched the character he was trying to build.

-When the show was separated from Reigns, the music of the Riott Squad made its way and they headed for the ring when the show was interrupted. (c)

– At the end of the break, Caruso interviewed Becky Lynch behind the scenes. Lynch interrupted the question and said that she would simply tell Charly what she wanted to know. She said that at WrestleMania, she would become the first female champion of Raw and SmackDown. Lynch then went to Charlotte and Rousey and told them that they hoped she would get out of the main tournament by not hearing well in their match tonight. Becky said she needed to make WrestleMania's story and needed to keep the gold medal after it so the McMahon could not take anything away from her. She told WrestleMania that she would do just that and she would make her entrance.

Heydorn badysis: Three for three on promos involving women in Sunday's main event. This was effective in telling Lynch's story in front of Ronda's and Charlotte's. It was a complicated story, but she combined everything very well.

Becky was a great success for her entry and was followed by Charlotte Flair. Flair had shivers and posed in front of the crowd in the ring under Lynch's eyes. After Charlotte, Rousey had a good reaction and did not slap the fans like she did. Rousey was also facing Charlotte and Becky, before the bell rang for the match.

(4) BECKY LYNCH, CHARLOTTE, and RONDA ROUSEY against THE RIOTT SQUAD

Charlotte kicked off the game. Riott and did it with a burst of chops with which the audience wooed.

Heydorn Analysis: In a tag, the attitude and charisma flowed from Lynch and Charlotte. Good game.

Shortly after, Charlotte threw Lynch into the ring with a hard tag. Once Becky crossed the ropes, she mocked Ric Flair's leg, then continued her offensive against Ruby Riott. Lynch eventually knocked Riott out of the ring as the show ended. (c)

Leaving the break, Sarah Logan tipped Becky Lynch to the ground with a headband. Logan then badped Lynch in the corner, but had a punch in the face for his troubles. After starting, Lynch hit Logan with a dropkick and tried to roll to his corner but was stopped by Riott who scored in the game. From there, Logan came back into the match and locked Becky into a submission to Cloverleaf while Ronda stared at him with an unprinted smile.

Heydorn badysis: Rousey was incredibly attractive with that smile. This screamed a lack of respect and was the perfect use of his character and personality with the increased volume.

Logan then enrolled Morgan in the match and Lynch quickly knocked him down with a clothesline. She then hit Morgan and Logan with a suplex. Immediately after, Morgan tried to get Becky for a pin, but Becky was kicked out. From there, Charlotte tagged herself in the match and found herself face to face with Becky. Seeing this, Ronda scored and locked Morgan in the control arm for the win under the gaze of Becky and Charlotte.

WINNER: Rousey, Lynch and Flair via submission

– As soon as the bell rang, Rousey attacked Charlotte and WrestleMania's main event was wrestling in the ring.

[HOUR THREE]

The fight led to the disappearance of security, which ended the fight and booed the public. Eventually, Ronda Rousey was handcuffed and Lynch timed her while she was. It also caused Lynch to be handcuffed. Lynch and Rousey handcuffed, Charlotte attacked Rousey and handcuffed her. When the audience launched, the spectators chanted, "Let them fight." While the three women were escorted, Cole claimed that WrestleMania's main event was handcuffed.

Heydorn badysis: I liked the intensity of the fight. It turned out to be genuine, with every woman trying to overcome the other. More importantly, it was clear and chaotic that big stars are launching it. Coming in a main match is what the WWE is looking for.

– After the announcement team recapped the events that took place at the end of the match, Lynch, Charlotte and Rousey were accused of being shipped into police cars. Lynch and Rousey were placed in the same car and fought in the car, causing the windows to break. Charlotte then attacked again while Rousey was driving a car in a police car. From there, Rousey and Charlotte fought a little before the three women were put in different cars. These cars then started while the show was going to pause. c)

Heydorn's badysis: Did you really put Lynch and Rousey in the same car? Nobody thought about it? Apart from the stupidity of that, it added fire to the fight. Every woman continued to be serious and dangerous, which adds an intrigue to Sunday.

– On leaving the break, the team of advertisers traced the highlights of the fight between Charlotte, Becky and Ronda.

– After the recap, Bobby Roode and Chad Gable were in the ring. Heavy Machinery is coming in.

(5) HEAVY MACHINERY vs. BOBBY ROODE & CHAD GABLE

Roode kicked off the game but was soon interrupted by Lacey Evans. She went out and did her usual schtick under the eyes of competitors. When she had finished, the action continued with Otis hitting the caterpillar on Roode. Afterwards, Otis went to get the pin, but it was broken by Gable. From there, Gable tried a splash of the upper rope, but Otis caught up with him. From there, Tucker joined us for the finishing of the Compact and the cover of the 1, 2 victory.

WINNER: Heavy Machinery via pinfall

Heydorn's badysis: A total charge matches to all respects. Lacey Evans is terribly close to Emmalina with regards to this gadget.

– A hype video broadcast for Kofi Kingston, which saved him time at WrestleMania's WWE Championship.

– After the video, Braun Strowman headed to the ring as the show unfolded. break. c)

– Leaving the break, Michael Cole revealed that Becky, Charlotte and Ronda had been taken to a local compound and charged.

(6) BRAUN STROWMAN vs. "CHE" & "JOST"

When the bell rings, Strowman instantly decimates the two opponents and throws the ball out of the ring. From there, he connected with two vicious clotheslines that floored the two men. The audience chanted "once more", which led Strowman to resume the movement. From there, he sent the two men back into the ring and threw a 1-2 power to win the 1, 2 win.

WINNER: Strowman via pinfall

Heydorn badysis: Fun places, but Sunday , that's all. comedy for Braun Strowman.

– After the match, Michael Cole recapped the first events between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar. From there, Bobby Lashley hit the ring as the show ended. (c)

– Outside the break, Lashley was interviewed in the ring. Before Lashley spoke, Caruso recorded a sequence highlighting the fact that Balor won the IC World Championship title at WrestleMania. When the video ended, Lio Rush spoke for Lashley and said that what happened last week was a stroke of luck. He said Sunday, Bobby would not have to deal with a dead weight like Jinder Mahal. He said that they were all worried about the situation in the afternoon in New York. From there, Lashley spoke to the demon who was appearing at WrestleMania and said it did not concern him. While Lashley was speaking, Finn Balor appeared on the big screen and declared that he had always had demons. He said that at WrestleMania, his demons would be Lashley's nightmare. From there, the regular Finn shot turned into Demon Finn. Lashley and Rush were both looking frightened as the show broke into commercials. (c)

Heydorn's badysis: I can do without Finn Balor who turns into a demon in front of everyone. Moreover, what was there with this sound? That said, using this gadget here makes sense. The entry of demons at WrestleMania will be memorable and as it's a great match with history, it works in the story they tell.

– On leaving the break, Rey Mysterio made his entrance. As he did, the announcement team made a big splash on WrestleMania on Sunday and said Rey Mysterio had not competed on Raw for five years.

7) REY MYSTERIO vs. BARON CORBIN

When the hype of Mania ended, Baron Corbin went to the ring and the match started. Rey took over early and hit Corbin with a few attacks. He tried to bad Corbin in the ropes, but could not do it and dropped him instead. At this point, Corbin came out of the ring and provoked the fans.
