Total Dhamaal, along with Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Esha Gupta and others, broke the Rs 100 crore at the national box office. The multi-starrer comedy was directed by Indra Kumar as well as stars Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Boman Irani, Sanjay Manjrekar and Sanjai Mishra.
Taran Adarsh, a film trade badyst, announced the news on Twitter by calling Total Dhamaal's first 100-crore film Madhuri Dixit. He also said the film was Ajay's ninth, Anil's and Arshad's third, and Riteish's fifth, to make over 100 crore.

The film recorded an impressive opening of 16.50 rupees and reached its peak on its first Sunday with collections of crore of 25 rupees.
This is the first film of Anil and Madhuri, after 19 years apart, which was seen together for the last time on the screen in the 2000 film Pukar. Total Dhamaal is the third of Dhamaal's successful franchise that debuted with Dhamaal in 2007 and was followed by Double Dhamaal in 2011.

The film now faces competition from new releases Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya. Akshaye Rathi, the exhibitor of the film, predicted that the film's impressive screenplay could affect new releases.
