WWE superstar Dean Ambrose played in his first match since the company confirmed he would not renew his contract at the end of April. Ambrose attended an event in Saskatoon, where he took part in the main event against Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship. Lashley successfully defended his title and defeated the other three superstars to keep it.

Although Lashley is the champion, the focus has been on Ambrose, who will soon leave the company. Surprisingly, Seth Rollins was not part of the event, otherwise it could have happened that Ambrose and Rollins clashed against each other. (Read also: Kurt Angle to talk about his future on WWE Raw )

Ambrose had lost the Intercontinental title in favor of Lashley a few weeks ago at Raw when he he had defended in triple-match match. He won the championship by defeating Seth Rollins at the WWE TLC in December 2018. He was supposed to keep him for a long time, but he lost the championship just weeks after his victory.

Because there was no big project for Ambrose to leave. In addition, he requested a release from the company and the WWE also confirmed that it would not happen on the mark after April. ( Read also: Brock Lesnar was due to end the series of The Undertaker in 2011)

Ambrose returned in August 2018 but even so, The Shield did not perform regularly. Later, Roman Reigns announced that he was suffering from leukemia, which precluded any possibility of the Shield meeting in 2018.

Now, when Ambrose has to leave the WWE, fans will not be able to see the Shield members in action together. In fact, Rollins will be the only member of The Shield on Raw because the date of Reigns' return has not been announced yet. Ambrose is expected to participate in more WWE events, but his participation in the main draw is likely to decline rapidly.
