WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW TV REPORT
MARCH 18, 2019
NETWORK USA
REPORT BY MIKE F. MEYERS, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Announcer: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves
[HOUR ONE]
The show is open in the arena with the music of Lesnar. Lesnar and Heyman entered a very energetic round of the Chicago crowd. Brock smiled and stretched his belt, pushing further. A song "Burn it!" Began to shake. Heyman finally got his shtick, and the crowd joined with his introduction before resuming their boos. Heyman accused Rollins of Shakespeare – no, Heyman propaganda levels. Heyman explained to Rollins' badertion that Lesnar was fighting opponents of his stature by mentioning his victories against Styles, Bryan and Balor. Heyman expressed his disbelief that Rollins wants to fight McIntyre tonight, 20 days before Wrestlemania, after McIntyre went through Ambrose and Reigns last week.
McIntyre's music and the release of the Scottish. McIntyre said that he was happy to finally receive a little respect. He urged Heyman to find a new Wrestlemania opponent for Lesnar, because after tonight Rollins will not be able to get to Wrestlemania. Rollins appeared from behind and repeatedly crushed McIntyre in the back with a steel chair, which could be called a serious heel strike from behind. Lesnar had an incredible expression of disbelief and when Rollins entered the ring with the chair, Lesnar quickly rushed to the ring, smiled and chuckled. Lesnar handed Heyman his belt and looked up at Rollins, but Heyman shouted warnings against what Lesnar thought. The duo then walked calmly down the ramp while playing Rollins' music.
Balor's music is played and Finn speaks to the crowd after the commercial break. Balor promised not to be a former champion for a long time, but was interrupted by Lashley's music. Graves said Lashley was the largest physical specimen in WWE history. Rush had the microphone and indicated that the little goblin was upset that Lashley had his gold pot around his waist. Rush presented Lashley's new favorite pose: keep the Intercontinental title at the top of a hand. The reaction of the crowd was sweet, considering the place. Balor then introduced his partner: Braun Strowman. Strowman went down the ramp and Rush looked very uncomfortably in the ring. Michael confirmed that Colin Jost and Michael Che would be special correspondents at Wrestlemania.
(1) FINN BALOR & BRAUN STROWMAN vs. BOBBY LASHLEY & LIO RUSH
Lashley started against Strowman. They traded back and forth clbadics: men and men. The TV series sounded, but thanks to Head and Shoulders, we were able to watch the game next to the commercials. Labels had been made and Lashley had taken over Balor by dropping him from the ring apron with an elbow.
The match story quickly became Balor's fight against Strowman. Balor was able to neutralize Rush with relative ease, then launched the hot tag. Strowman apparently tried to choke, but Rush turned in the air, landing on his face. Strowman continued to punish Rush, but Lashley entered the ring and harpooned Strowman, who had raised Rush on his shoulder. Rush started shaking first and headed for the top rope and dropped Splow in a frog splash, but Strowman kicked two. Some antics ensue outside the ring and Strowman eventually suffocates Rush, then runs a running slam, while Lashley drops out of his partner and rides alone on the ramp.
WINNERS: Finn Balor & Braun Strowman fell fast. ] (Meyers badysis: Rush knows how to react and it's fun to watch him work against a much bigger opponent, like Strowman.) Lashley has concretized the idea that he is a fool in abandoning his most faithful defender in the middle match.)
Rousey entered the arena behind the scenes with her husband, Travis Browne. An arbitrator and members of the security team arrested her and told her that she was fined for being late and that she would be monitored by security after the events of last week. She said, "Uh, huh" and left with disdain.
(Meyers Analysis: It is therefore against the rule not to be in the arena before the start of the series.) Damn, the amount of the fines The WWE should have collected over the years , she must have been stunning.)
Alexa Bliss made the scene for A Moment of Bliss as we switched to advertising.
Bliss wanted to tell us about Wrestlemania's interest. , so she cut to … Michael Cole. The ad team then made a very standard summary with on-screen graphics for the matches announced so far for Wrestlemania. Back to Bliss. She introduced her guest: Elias. Elias walked on his post scraping his electro-acoustic black Fender. "Hello, I'm Elias." "Hello, I'm Alexa." Bliss badured that no one would interrupt Elias' big announcement tonight. His announcement: He would be the main musical actor of Wrestlemania, in the largest city of all, New York. Chicago booed.
Elias said that he was born to live at the moment of pressure, that he was prospering. "If my performance at Wrestlemania was a winner, I would do it every time." Bears fans were unhappy. He added that if anyone dared to interrupt him at Wrestlemania – he was interrupted in the middle of a sentence by the music of No Way Jose. A conga line entered, led by Otis of Heavy Machinery. The line surrounded Elias and Bliss. Bliss interrupted the music and told Otis that they should not be out until the end of the show and wondered why they even bothered to have ten rehearsals. Elias had Otis' head, but he was clubbed by a tall, disguised man. The man removed his mask and turned out to be … NO AVERAGE JOSE! In a cub t-shirt, no less. With bright green braids / extensions, nothing less.
(2) ELIAS vs. NO WAY JOSE
The game was underway on our return from play, and José had Elias in a pbad. rotation of the aircraft. Jose locked in a tussle as his line of conga launched a song "No Way Jose!" Saying that the crowd did not want to join. The animated antics of the well-lit conga lineage at the edge of the ring were juxtaposed with a motionless audience tinged with red. Elias shouted, "Who wants to walk with Elias!" And Renee replied, "Elias is hurt." Graves replied, "It's hell of an observation, Renee." Elias clinched the Drift Away for the pin and the win.
Elias by pinfall.
(Meyers Analysis: A marginal and sad improvement of a Main Event match that the public could not have cared less for. It's as if the conga line was intended to distract from the crowd Indifference, but it almost served to attract more attention.)
Angle's music is played and Kurt walks toward the ramp as we move to the publicity.
After the break, Angle announced that his starting tour would continue here in Chicago with another match. A song "Thank you, Kurt" broke out in the crowd. Angle thanked the McMahon family for allowing him to choose his last opponent at Wrestlemania – a person who made his life hell when he was managing director: Baron Corbin. The crowd hue.
(Meyers badysis: I do not think the warm booos were against Corbin the character, but rather Corbin's choice as the final opponent of Angle. The crowd seemed disappointed by this announcement.) [19659024] (3) KURT ANGLE Vs. CHAD GABLE
Gable entered the ring and, when the bell rang, he told Angle that he was an inspiration and that the pleasure was for him whole. The wrestlers blocked and exchanged takes to start, and a song "That's great!" Has resonated in the arena. A back and forth ensued, none at a fast pace, and Angle finally tackled Gable in the ring with a belly-to-belly overhang, the biggest shock of the match, and Gable stood at the edge of the ring. [19659005] The wrestlers got into the fight, and Gable took over, working on Angle's arm. Angle leveled Gable by badping the chest first in the corner, then returned to the carpet with a chancery at the front. Gable stood up and pulled a load angle through the ropes to the ring. It is shocking not to go to the commercial. Gable Drop kicked the Angle Knee while he was trying to get into the ring. Covered sprocket for a two count. Gable then locked the left Angle knee with a leg lock, but Angle fired and knocked him out of the ring side, and the viewers were knocked out at the commercial break.
Angle flipped over several times with clotheslines and a fall from his back, then almost. He applied the ankle lock, but Gable flipped over and pushed Angle away. Gable eventually applied his own lock to the ankle, but Angle got out by pulling Gable into the turnbuckle. Angle got up and started to apply Slam Angle, but Gable reversed the maneuver into DDT. Covered sprocket for two counts – a credible false finish. Angle managed to reapply the ankle lock, but this time he fell on the canvas and blocked his legs around Gable. Gable went out in a few seconds.
Angle helped him get up and the wrestlers kissed him.
WINNER: Angle by submission.
(Meyers' Thoughts: Fascinating to See the Angle Shell Fighting a Younger Version Gable has created all kinds of moves in this game. With proper construction, Angle vs. Gable would be a better match between Wrestlemania and Angle against Corbin, pitting two amateur wrestlers against each other. The history of mutual respect would have a moment of easy well-being at WrestleMania, and a better match to start. )
Corbin then entered. Corbin explained that he liked to humiliate Angle when he was general manager, but not as much as he would like to dominate him in his last game. Corbin concluded with the sentence of Angle: "It's true … it's really true."
Banks and Bayley came in and went into the ring as we were about to break up.
Behind the scenes, Corbin was talking to the revival, who seemed to be impressed by Corbin's dealings. with angle. Apollo Crews came in and said that he wanted a match tonight with Corbin. After some encouragement from Crews, Corbin agreed. The teams said, "Why is it so difficult? That's why no one likes you! Corbin turned to wake up and said, "These guys like me … well, is not it? The awakening snorted and said, in tandem, "Good God! "And came out of the camera."
(Meyers badysis: Revival's positioning here is interesting.) During the matches, they are described as heels, but fans tend to like them as a skilled team and When they are confronted with Corbin, a heel in the purest sense, they have the WWE, at least in this segment, allows them to be cold heels.)
Bayley and Banks were interviewed by Charlie in the ring Bayley said that they would defend their titles with anyone and that they will be appearing tomorrow night at Smackdown to say that it would be … Iconic Banks began to meet their aspirations at Wrestlemania , but Natalya and Beth Phoenix broke off and headed for the ring.
With the four women in the ring, the crowd warmed up audibly, and Phoenix complimented Bayley and Banks' efforts. says that she was was satisfied with her role as a commentator until she saw Jax and Tamina trying to repress women with their jealousy and pettiness. She said Jax and Tamina also "woke the dragon". She added that she loved her career at WWE but that she was missing something. She then challenged the championship champions for the new Wrestlemania team championships. The camera stared at a panel hanging from the rafters.
Bayley suggested that Phoenix reconsider the challenge and that Wrestlemania may be too early to be in tune. Natalya intervened and praised Phoenix's prowess. Banks broke up and said Natalya rode behind Phoenix to play a game at Wrestlemania. It was too much for Natalya, who hit Banks on the face. Banks attacked Natalya, then Phoenix threw her into the ring deck with little effort. Facing Bayley, Phoenix also pushed her on the canvas. Commercial break.
(4) SASHA BANKS vs. NATALYA
We joined the show just as the bell rang for a newly brewed singles match. Natalya locked Banks in an abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring. Banks broke free and sent Natalya back to a corner, then made a knee attack. Natalya avoided a second strike and leveled Banks with a clothesline. Jax's music was played and all the action on the ring stopped. Jax had a microphone and started casting Phoenix overhead. Phoenix, distracted by Jax's harsh words, was caught unawares by Tamina. Tamina then started Bayley and Banks very well, charging, which led to a finish at QD.
Winner: Banks by disqualification.
(Meyers badysis: Boss & Hug Connection against Natalya and Phoenix could be a good Wrestlemania match – it's unfortunate that Jax and Tamina are still in. Not only will they be involved in the latest episodes of Raw but there is a good chance that this will lead to the formidable triple-threat team match of the big show.)
We cut Mojo Rawley behind the scenes – in a cloudy black void – talking to a mirror. He had harsh words for himself and his presumed potential, and he shouted, "Find him!"
(Meyers Analysis: If anyone needs to talk to a mirror, he at least found a way to film that's a big step forward for the WWE leadership: Rawley looked in his own eyes in the mirror, rather than in the reflection of the camera lens.It is Emmy's time.)
Ricochet entered his music, and the crowd seemed very happy. Commercial break.
(5) RICOCHET vs. JINDER MAHAL (Singh brothers)
Ricochet basically circled Mahal before leveling it with a dropkick missile. Mahal s' retired at the ring, but Ricochet continued the attack in the ring. The Singh provided a momentary distraction to Ricochet, which allowed Mahal to access the opening he needed to put a clothesline on the ring apron.
Mahal locked in a Chinlock Main Event. Some fans have started a clumsy song of the "U.S.A. While Ricochet rose almost before being crushed on the ground. The wrestlers got up and Mahal showed a slow pace before returning to the tie bar. Finally, Ricochet retaliated with an enzuigiri and another falling kick, throwing Mahal on the canvas. Ricochet shot Mahal in the corner with a hurricane, then flipped him over again with a flying clothesline. Ricochet executed a shooting star press and carried out a double counting
Mahal rolled up to the edge of the ring for the comfort of the Singh, but Ricochet executed a Space Flying Tiger on the top rope to demolish the plane to three to outside the ring. Ricochet brought Mahal back into the ring and climbed the upper rope. Ricochet jumped into a rotating blur known as the 630 senton, landed on Mahal, and was pinned for counting in three.
(Meyers Analysis: I have not seen anyone sell as much for Mahal as since he was poorly conceived Ricochet is a phenomenon – watching him work with Mahal, it's like watching Quicksilver's scenes in X-Men movies.)
After a break, Rollins was interviewed behind the scenes, where Dasha asked him about his chair. attack on McIntyre. He said tonight was for Dean and Roman, as well as for Brock Lesnar. Rollins quoted Metallica, one of the thrash metal pioneers of the Bay Area, stating that he was not afraid to fight fire by fire
Rousey sulked and made the cent not in the ring while his music was playing. We went behind the scenes of Charlie with Dana Brooke. Brooke admitted she might not be any better than Rousey, but she only needs to be better than Rousey for three seconds to become the Raw Women Champion. Brooke's entrance has begun.
[HOUR THREE]
(6) RONDA ROUSEY (c) vs. DANA BROOKE – Raw Women's Championship Match
Appropriate introductions for the championship game were made when both wrestlers were in the ring. Graves said that Brooke's guidance counselor lied to her when she told him that she could be anything she wanted when she was tall. The bell rings and Rousey crushes Brooke within 30 seconds with a few clashes on the legs and the submission of the arm.
WINNER: Rousey by submission.
Rousey has a festive air with her husband at the ring when security increases. confronted him. Rousey put on one, Browne put on another, and the confrontation ended when Browne picked up Rousey and hoisted her over the fence. Back in the ring, Brooke writhed in slow motion pain.
(7) BARON CORBIN vs. APOLLO CREWS
As the match began, Michael said the WWE Universe was angry at Angle who had chosen Corbin as Wrestlemania's opponent. The crews took Corbin out with a moon ball from the ring deck outside the ring. The ad team continued to discuss Corbin's match against Wrestlemania as it was locked in a drawbar lock.
Crews compete, but encounter Corbin's Deep Six, which doubles. It should have been a big faux finale, but the crowd was excluded. Corbin was a little taken in his position and his direction, allowing Crews to go back Corbin for the flag and the victory.
Angle joins Crews at the top of the ramp and congratulates his friend for the victory.
Crews by pinfall.
(Meyers Analysis: This match was actually used for something.) The advertisers had as a backdrop to develop the story of Corbin-Angle, and the action in the ring was heightened Corbin's arrogance and madness.)
We were shown a Batista scene being prepared and prepared behind the scenes, sitting in a fine leather chair and flanked by the most beautiful golden tapestries that Illinois has to offer. Commercial break.
Michael Cole, from his bulletin board with helmet, asks Batista what he has against Triple H. Michael asks if the conflict goes back to the days of evolution. Batista said it goes back further than that – that Triple H had only prepared him to be his muscle. "He spoke with me, even underestimated me." Batista said that he blamed Triple H for entering the company, which he had left because of Hunter. Batista pointed out what he had accomplished since leaving WWE – and that he was now in a position of control, without Triple H.
When Michael claimed that Triple H had not Was that nice to him, Batista pointed out that Triple H was the "Cerebral Assbadin", and that he's cheating on everyone. He predicts two things: one day, Vince will wake up and fire Triple H. And in Wrestlemania, he will end the career in the ring of Triple H.
(Meyers Analysis: in this pre-recorded segment, Batista is a bit disjointed, even if it's not as bad as last week's gig.) Hearing only Batista's story in this segment, he's not considered a baseless heel. We'll have to wait to see Hunter's response in the meandering next week.)
After a break, Bliss and Strowman were shown behind the scenes. A recap of Strowman destroying the Chevrolet Camaro, offered by SNL star Colin Jost, was shown. Bliss said her job was to keep Wrestlemania running smoothly, and she offered to negotiate peace between Strowman and the SNL guys. Strowman agreed to give him a week.
McIntyre's music was heard and Drew entered for tonight's main event.
McIntyre's addressed the crowd from the ring. He announced that the shield was no longer, thanks to him, and now he rollins the attacker like a coward with a chair. He proclaimed that as his court now, since he installed Reigns last week. McIntyre mentioned the return of Reigns' leukemia and said that if Reigns wanted to be a hero and a source of inspiration, he had a challenge: a fight in Wrestlemania. The response from the crowd is minimal.
He asks Reigns to choose his family rather than the fans, because they are not interested in him. "I'm going to hurt you, I'll mutilate you, I'll destroy you! You may have defeated leukemia, but on the biggest stage you will never beat me! Rollins appeared on the big screen, began to breathe hard and said, "That's why I did what I did earlier in the evening, Drew." We listened to a resumption of the rollins chair attack from the first hour.
Rollins accused McIntyre and intercepted him on the ramp and the two men started to fight. The referees separated the two when Rollins rolled into the ring. Advertising break.
(8) DREW MCINTYRE vs. SETH ROLLINS
McIntyre badped Rollins to the carpet and jammed him in one arm. Seth was straightened and released, but was flipped again with an inverted elbow. McIntyre covered for two, then returned to the arm bar. "Let's go, Rollins!" Lamented plaintively in the arena. Rollins nearly went up to the attack but McIntyre hit the brakes and executed repeated moves, then applied a new arm bar, knee recumbent in the back of Rollins' skull.
The wrestlers rolled to the ground and fought near the ring. Rollins attempted a descent into the air and McIntyre did his best to avoid the harmless attack and throw Rollins to the ground. We went to advertising.
The wrestlers were back in the ring and Michael said McIntyre was determined to destroy all members of the "formerly called shield group". With a handful of Rollins hair, McIntyre shouted, "I've kidnapped your brothers!"
Rollins finally countered McIntyre's attacks with a hurricane that sent McIntyre to the edge of the ring. Rollins ran the ropes and dived through the ropes to McIntyre, but McIntyre intercepted Rollins, twisted him, and sent him back into the barricade. McIntyre then located and used his own steel chair. McIntyre was distracted by the referee, which with the foreign object, allowing Rollins to super kick McIntyre. The two men collapsed and the referee started double counting, but both wrestlers arrived at nine.
Rollins immediately dressed McIntyre over the top rope, then performed two suicide dives outside the ring before delivering a sling to the sling. Ring. "Burn him!" The songs began to resonate in the arena, but they were short-lived. McIntyre catches Rollins and delivers an Alabama Slam, a movement never before seen in the North of the UK.
McIntyre installs Rollins at the top of the top turnbuckle, but it slips up to the canvas. Rollins sprinted to McIntyre, who was now perched on the turnbuckle, and ran an instant superplex, followed by a Falcon arrow and a pin for a countdown in half. The crowd began to sizzle when Rollins grabbed the ropes and trampled on his boot, causing another chant "Burn it!". Rollins planted a boot in McIntyre's mid-section just as Lesnar's music was played.
Rollins froze and stared at Heyman and Lesnar, who waltzed slowly on the stage without posing an imminent threat. This allowed McIntyre to blitz Rollins from behind with the Claymore Kick, which was enough for the count and the win.
WINNER: Drew McIntyre by the punch.
(Meyers badysis: Rollins is a fool.)
