VVS Laxman was born on November 1, 1974. Commonly called V.V.S. Laxman (often VVS, and sometimes "Very Very Special"), Laxman is a former Indian cricketer and currently a cricket commentator.

VVS Laxman was born in Hyderabad, Telangana. Laxman's parents are Shantaram and Satyabhama from Vijayawada. Laxman is the great-grand-nephew of the second president of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. VVS Laxman studied at Little Flower High School in Hyderabad. Although he joined a medical school for his undergraduate studies, Laxman chose cricket as his career.
