Chris Pine could be excluded from the Marvel Studios superhero franchise, but the actor has found a niche with DC Films. The actor seduced with his work on Wonder Woman in the role of Steve Trevor, a feat that will be reproduced in the sequel. However, according to Patty Jenkins, Steve has not promised a third return.
Jenkins recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight (via io9) about his work on I Am the Night . It is there that she briefly talked about Wonder Woman 1984 and stated the following when asked about Steve's return:
"We'll see" , said Jenkins before adding: "Chris and I will be working together a lot more, one way or another."
With respect to the actor himself even, Pine seems less sure of Steve's longevity. The actor, who is also part of I Am the Night is sure to tell Entertainment Weekly that he felt the role of his character in Wonder Woman was finished.
done, "the actor admitted." I think Steve did his part. I wish them all the luck of the world. "
Up to now, there are very few details on Wonder Woman 1984 but fans know that Steve's return will be announced and the character sacrificed his life at the end of the first film, prompting Diana to take courage and face Ares. With this sequel in the 1980s, it seems that Steve is somehow brought back into the life of Wonder Woman.Nobody knows what will happen except for the casting, but Jenkins promised that the return would be quite logical.
"It's interesting," Jenkins teased. "I thought what the next movie should be doing the first movie, so it was not a solution for" Oh my God, it worked, let's get in there. " This is extremely important for the story. It's perfectly logical. That's all I can tell you.
Although Steve's return may make sense in the second film, nothing says what will be next for Wonder Woman 3 . Jenkins has in mind a master plan for the franchise, but Steve's participation in the series may not last. Despite her vague commentary to Entertainment Tonight, Jenkins told Vanity Fair this year that she had clear plans for Wonder Woman 3 so her vision for Steve is surely set … and is kept low. for a good reason.
"I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3 ," admitted Jenkins. "Whether I [direct] like it or not, I see how her bow should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. This fascinates me a lot."
The Wonderful Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on the 5th June 2020.
