The DJ had previously collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan for one of his films. Meanwhile, Gully Boy is a story inspired by the slum rappers of Dharavi. Ranveer plays the role of a street rapper. It is inspired by the lives of rappers Neazy, Naved Shaikh and Divine, Vivian Fernandes, who also helped Ranveer record several rap songs in the studio.
Ranveer is paired with Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin. Gully Boy is based on the underground rap movement in India and is due to be released on February 14th.
