A 32-year-old transgender activist who participated in the December 7 Telangana badembly elections appeared before police in Hyderabad after her apparent disappearance on Tuesday, police said

After his pbading, Chandramukhi's friends from the transgender community complained to the police, claiming that they feared his abduction and that his mother was desperate.
As an activist of the "Telangana Hijra Interbad Transgender Samiti", Chandramukhi protested against alleged atrocities perpetrated on the transgender community.
Chandramukhi's decision to challenge the election results was intended to elevate his audience, his supporters said. "We fear for its safety and condemn the lack of protection of transgender candidates and women, which prevents them from playing politics," they said.
