Actress Emilia Clarke explained that "it's a very good reason" for which Game of Thrones creators took their time with the last season of the hit series. The 32-year-old actor, known for playing the iconic role of Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series, said the eighth and final season was going to "shock people."
"It's going to be huge, everyone needs to know. It took us a long time to film this one for a very good reason. But I think there will be things … I know there will be things in the last season that will shock people, "Clarke told E! on the red carpet of the Oscars 2019.

HBO shared new footage of the coming season on Monday. In a short video that features all the upcoming HBO shows in the summer, Game of Thrones has also recorded some new sequences of a few seconds. The video showed Arya Stark's joyous expression when seeing a dragon for the first time. Look at it here:
The eighth chapter of the show comes close to two years after the last broadcast of July 16, 2017. Game of Thrones is back for a last round on April 14th. The new season will be longer, with six feature-length episodes and some of the more complex battle sequences that will make TV recordings as they air. The final battle between humans and the undead took 55 nights of outdoor shooting, a first for the series and perhaps even the history of television.
