Avengers: Endgame is expected to be Robert Downey Jr's latest film, Marvel Cinematic Universe. Eleven years and ten pbadages in less, the fourth film Avengers could be the last of Iron Man.
One of the theories is that he will retire and fly away until sundown, but of course, many think he saves the universe of Thanos by sacrificing his own life [19659003] But, in our opinion, it is not enough for Tony Stark to die so that others can live. If Endgame is his last houra, he must finish his story and leave a legacy worthy of his epic adventure in the MCU.
You may have forgotten now, but Tony started in 2008. ] Iron Man as a weapons dealer happy to sell weapons to the highest bidder, no matter how much they were suspicious. The first film dealt with his realization that he was a terrible person and his transformation into a hero (although his solo films forced him repeatedly to face the mistakes of his past).
Become a true hero, he makes a noble sacrifice. in Avengers by sending a nuclear warhead into the Loki portal and destroying the ship Chitauri. He survived, but he surely did not think he would come back.
Iron Man ended up with post-traumatic stress disorder after the Battle of New York, and something else – a vision of the terrible threats that await the Earth, one was aggravated by Scarlet Witch who made him hallucinate death of his teammates and another invasion of the Earth in The Avengers: Age of Ultron . This is how Tony entered the second phase of his story – his obsession with protecting the planet from the threats that he predicts. In his own words, "I see armor all over the world".
Up to now, his attempts have gone awry. He created Ultron as a system to protect the world, only for artificial intelligence to decide that his number one mission was to KILL EVERYONE.
Attempt number two took place Captain America: Civil War and Tony involved signing the UN Sokovia agreements, which would place all superheroes under the control of the authorities. The ruling was fueled by Iron Man's guilt over the harm he had caused in the past, particularly the destruction of Sokovia by Ultron.
As we know, his support of the agreements put him in conflict with his old friend Cape, who eventually led to a schism in the Avengers who had the team fight between them. The defenders of the Earth were divided. Would they have been better prepared for the Thanos attack in Avengers: Infinity War if Tony had managed to keep them together?
When Howard Stark appears in Iron Man 2 (via the magic of home movies), he predicts that his son Tony will "change the world". We have not yet seen the fulfillment of that. In recent years, we have been closer to seeing Iron Man as a force for change in addition to hitting villains (and his friends) in the scene of Civil War in which he presents his technology BARF that allows people to relive their memories.
His role in Endgame can not be as simple as sacrificing himself to save the world. We have already seen Tony make this decision in Avengers so it would be the same act with a more final result.
Iron Man's story was about making the world safer, and yet he leaves the MCU, whether by death or retirement, to complete his story, he has to leave Earth to the best when it goes away. It obviously can not solve all the problems of the world, but we expect to see an act, the creation of a technology or an organization that will leave Tony's legacy – and his final victory.
Avengers: Endgame will appear on April 25 in the United Kingdom and April 26 in the United States.
