In the upcoming biopic Yatra, Mollywood superstar Mammootty will play the role of YS politician Rajasekara Reddy.A teaser of the film has been released to celebrate the & Raj Raj 39 pour pour pour YSR's birthday falls on Sunday.Mammootty, wearing an iconic white garment from the political clbad, makes a grand entrance as the late Chief Minister.

Speaking at Indianexpress.com earlier, the director Mani V Raghav had explained the reason behind Mammootty's choice to play the role. "I grew up watching his movies (Mammootty). Keeping this aside, in the context of the YSR, the YSR was seen as a strong and courageous leader. To represent his character, we needed someone who could have that leadership aura that we can admire. I've seen a lot of his films and I thought Mammukka did not have to go out of his way to achieve something like that, "he said.

While Yatra would be done in Telugu, he would be dubbed in Tamil.The director thinks that the story would touch everyone. "It's about a leader who has make a trip. And the sub-intrigues are very human about a farmer and a health professional, to which everyone can identify.

Yatra also holds Rao Ramesh, Anasuya, Krishna Murali Posani, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar in key roles. The film is tentatively scheduled for release in December or January.
