Do you have any fears
There was no apprehension at all since I was playing this type of role for the first time. I've always played a bubbly girl and neighbor in the movies, my role in Blank was completely different.
How was it working with Karan Kapadia?
It was very fun to work with him. Karan is very talented and hardworking. Personally, I had scenes of action in Blank and it was exciting for me to chase him into the movie. There is nothing wrong with Karan as such. He is a complete artist. He's too funny and keeps making jokes from time to time.
Have you ever had a BLANK moment while shooting the movie?
Everyone was BLANK once during the shoot, except me. On the second or third day of the shoot, a glbad shattered on me. So, I remember, everyone around me was scared, terrified and had an empty face, whereas it was me who told them to calm down because I was fine. Later, they made me understand that my two hands were bleeding a lot but I could not feel it. Although I was seriously injured, I simply told them to take me to the hospital.
Is there anything you would like to eliminate from Bollywood?
I would have considered competition, but since I like it I would prefer not to eliminate anything. I love Bollywood – the drama, the action, the dance and everything. So, there is nothing!
After the #MeToo movement, how did things affect you, Tanushree and your family?
Few things that happened during that time have really touched me. Random women shared their stories with me and explained how they felt encouraged to open up because of my sister. I remember that at one event, a reporter shared her ordeal with me and she could not help crying. The lady sat with me for two hours, it really touched me. Things do not change easily, it takes time. At least now, a movement has begun and it will certainly go somewhere.
How did the negativity surrounding Tanushree during this phase affect her? People were of the opinion that it was only a publicity stunt?
She never came to India with the intention of talking about the same thing, it happened. She had opened ten years earlier. The video was online but no one heard it. All those who called it an advertising gadget suddenly became silent. People randomly selected on social media have nothing to say on his return. She did what she had to do. If Tanushree had to do it for advertising, she would have done it a long time ago. Unfortunately, people always want to see first what is wrong and it is a harsh reality of life. As a family, we knew that the truth existed and that negativity did not bother us.
