In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, Soni Razdan told us about her film No Fathers in Cashmir and her fight against the CBFC to get a release date

Soni Razdan is an actor who emotes perfectly at the same time. ;screen. The actor, who was last seen with his daughter Alia Bhatt in Raazi, is now producing a more intense film, No Fathers In Kashmir. Directed by Ashvin Kumar, the film tells the story of a young British man, Noor, and a Kashmiri boy, Majid, who are on a mission to find his missing father. The trailer was well received by the public and also appreciated by movie buffs. The film addresses several topics that are still not explored by traditional cinema.

The trailer was launched by Soni and her husband Mahesh Bhatt. Soni Razdan, in perfect words, at the launch party of the trailer, said: "A stunning and heartbreaking film. Ashvin has the courage to live in all this darkness, and after that he brings us so much light. In these dark times of hate, here is a love story of the bloody Valley of Kashmir, which has the daring to look forward to.

The movie was struggling with CBFC for the November release and finally finally found relief. . We met Soni Razdan who showed us his heart and shared the film's fight against the release. She also talked about how celebrities are monitored online when they share their opinions.

Here are excerpts from the interview:

At the launch of the trailer, Mahesh Bhatt openly questions the freedom of the people while the film strives to obtain a certificate and a release date from the CBFC. Do you think that Bollywood should take each other into account when it comes to CBFC delays the release of a particular movie? Do you think that there is no unity?

Yes, but that is nothing new in the film industry. Some people take a stand for you and support you and most people do not do it because they are scared. A filmmaker is in a very vulnerable position when his films come out. They are therefore open to such things. Everyone wants to be safe. Nobody wants to rock his boat. Rightly or wrongly, if you are not in their situation or if you do not have money to use, I do not think you can really judge. It's not fair to judge anyone.

Director Ashvin Kumar had previously stated in an interview that the CBFC was getting foreclosures when there was a word about Kashmir in a movie. What do you think? Even Raazi was established in Kashmir but had no problems.

Raazi spoke of Kashmir during the 1970s and there was no insurgency at that time. It was very different and patriotic. If you challenge the status quo in any way in your story or when you bring out something that is hidden (the problem occurs). Personally, I feel it makes no sense, because we are talking about Kashmir in Parliament, we talk about it on television, we discuss and discuss, there are written books, everything is available on the Internet. What does it mean to not make a movie like this? It does not make sense. So, I do not really know how it is a problem. I put a tweet that I thought the CBFC would like to receive the film with open arms, because anything that can help you better understand the situation is a subject on which we must be informed. It does not hurt, in my opinion.

Nowadays, celebrities are being tested online for expressing their opinion. This causes them not to be open to many things. What do you think of these trolls online?

Do not worry. There will always be these trolls. There will always be people who will first wait for someone 's comment and then attack him. I will say that they are only cowards. They do not have their own opinions. It is very easy to be a sheep, it is not easy to be a shepherd. Do not worry about these trolls. We must not give them importance.

No father in Kashmir will go on the screens on April 5, 2019.
