The first original announced by Netflix in India now has a launch date. The broadcast of Bard of Blood is expected to begin September 27, 2019. All episodes of the series will be launched simultaneously, exclusively on Netflix and intended for 149 million users in 190 countries.
As part of the agreement between Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan's company, the series will feature actors such as Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari, Gaurav Verma and Rajit Kapoor, among others. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Bard of Blood is based on a book of the same name written by Bilal Siddiqui.
The story tells of four Indian Intelligence Wing (IIW) officers who were compromised before being able to pbad important information to India. They are captured and about to be decapitated. Needless to say, the stakes are high.
Back in India, veteran intelligence Sadiq Sheikh, manager of the captured agents, realizes that he must conduct a clandestine mission to save his people. He reaches out to a former spy, who has become a professor Kabir Anand (Emraan Hashmi), a man who knows the terrain and politics of Baluchistan well. Kabir must link the points of the encrypted information he has. The only way for Kabir to get answers is to embark on a dangerous journey and finish his unfinished business.
