Father-in-law of a 10-year-old boy who went out before the death sentence

The father-in-law of a ten-year-old boy who died weeks after being released homobadual was arrested on Wednesday.

Anthony Avalos was found unanswered at his home in Lancaster, California. He died the next day.

His father-in-law, Kareem Leiva, 32, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder after being interrogated by Sheriff investigators in Los Angeles County on the same day, Sheriff Jim McDonnell said in a statement. ;a press conference.

Tuesday, the Los Angeles Times reported that Brandon Nichols, deputy director of the Department of Child and Family Services of Los Angeles County, said that Anthony came to his family weeks before his death, saying "he loved boys ".

While DCFS is studying how this may have played a role in the boy's death, McDonnell said that homophobia had "not been raised" until now in the investigation of the detectives on why Anthony would have been abused.

Of the other children found in the house where Anthony was found are now in the custody of the DCFS, McDonnell has indicated where they would expect "for the right placement."

Anthony's mother, Heather Barron, was also interviewed by investigators on Wednesday, although she was not arrested or charged with crimes.

Other allegations included badual, emotional and physical abuse as well as neglect, the newspaper reported.

Anthony's aunt, Maria Barron, told the Time that living in a situation of alleged violence and going out "only reinforces how brave Anthony was".
