Following the release of a new trailer at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, people are wondering about the choice of making a real cast with a CGI version of Will Smith under the name of "The". emblematic Blue Genius.
First of all, there were mixed reactions on Twitter when people found the Genie to be horrible or just strange.
Disney's official tweet of the new video also provoked a largely negative reaction.
The YouTube video of the new teaser also provoked mixed reactions from users.
"See Will Smith as Genius has made me miss Robin Williams even more," reads in a comment that got the most voted vote. Others said the Genie looked very "different" but they were willing to give him a chance.

Will Smith's genius was not blue in these pictures – he looked more like Will Smith in costume. The actor has released the EW cover on Instagram, baduring fans that it would be blue in the movie.
At the time, many people were disappointed to see Genie without her familiar blue color. But now that we are examining the new Blue Genie in action, the reactions are more mixed than ever.
However, this was not bad news for Disney. Many people were delighted to see the friendly Carpet alongside Aladdin and Raja the tiger strutting behind Princess Jasmine.
The feelings of the fans for Genie's character might be due to the emotional connection between Disney's animated film and the original actor behind the Genie: Robin Williams. The actor has committed suicide in 2014 at the age of 63 years.
"Aladdin", directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Naomi Scott in the role of Princess Jasmine and Mena Mbadoud in the role of Aladdin, arrives in theaters May 24.
