In six weeks, Game of Thrones will end. From here, our beloved Tyrion Lannister will be gone for a long time, killed in the last hours of the series.
No, my prediction did not come from a stolen script nor from a source deep within HBO. All I really need to back up in my theory of Tyrion is a presentiment. Intuition well supported, highly sought after and emotionally devastating.
Throughout the last 7 seasons of Thrones Tyrion Lannister hypnotized audiences with his courage, integrity, darkness and wit. He went to the Wall, defended King's Landing in the battle for black water, served as hand to the late King Joffrey and rising queen Queen Daenerys, was wrongly judged for the murder of his nephew, escaped a trial for the murder of his girlfriend and father, and much more.
Tyrion is loved by, or at least closely related to, virtually all Westeros characters – and that's why he will not survive the series finale.
Tyrion's character bow is one of the most impressive of the period Thrones . Presented as a cynical and drunk womanizer tied to his sordid family, Tyrion began the one-dimensional show and the wrong side of the story. But as the realities of his marginalization appeared, highlighting his tortured existence, he became deeply cherished by the fans.
Tyrion embodies the slippery morality for which GoT is known.
The complexity of Tyrion and his role in the universe of Thrones are difficult to overestimate. Yes, he is one of the good guys – but some parts of him are braver than others and his definition of "what is right" seems to change at a surprising speed. It's hard to shake the memory of Tyrion strangling Shae and then spearing Tywin in season 4. (Again, this man was the worst, but he was also in the toilet. )
When Tyrion Meets Dany in his castle of Meereen and swore fidelity during the season 5, it seemed to him that he had finally fallen on the good side of things. In many ways, Tyrion embodies the slippery morality Thrones . His death and the complicated reactions that will accompany it are thematic gold, supported by an arch of complex character worthy of a devastating finale.
You can already imagine the wave of emotions that will cross Lena Headey's face when Cersei learns of her brother's death. (Unless of course it was the one who killed him.It is too early to consider this possibility.)
In addition, if there is an actor who can get a universal sob from him. 39, audience of Thrones that is Peter Dinklage. This show likes to pack a punch, and no partisan Snow or Dany Stanner will be spared by the emotional waves of Tyrion's loss.
