Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy is the latest victim of the Tamilrockers. The director of Zoya Akhtar was disclosed only hours after its release Thursday.
Also performed by Alia Bhatt, Gully Boy is written by Akhtar and Reema Kagti. Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz and Siddhant Chaturvedi are part of the cast.
Tamilrockers has been banned several times, but a new domain appears each time and is accessible through proxy servers. This has caused the thrill of several major film production companies over the years, especially in the south of the country, from where it began.
But now, Bollywood and Hollywood are not safe. The site even managed to download HD copies of the movies
Recent victims of Tamilrockers include Uri: The Surgical Strike, Viswasam, Petta, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and The Accidental Prime Minister. Before that, even Hollywood movies like Aquaman and Fantastic Beasts: Grindelwald's crimes were also on the site.
Rajinikanth's 2.0 was an important film that Tamilrockers had revealed. After a call from Lyca Productions producers, the Madras High Court has ordered Internet service providers to block 12,000 websites, of which more than 2,000 are operated by Tamilrockers only.
