LONDON: New Zealand's Martin Guptill scored 102 goals on 38 balls as Worcestershire beat Northamptonshire by nine wickets Friday in the Twenty20 Blast of the English county.

Set a goal of 188, Worcestershire won with nearly seven overs, Joe Clarke making an invincible 61 off of 33 balls.

Clarke and Guptill put on 162 in 10 overs.

It did not take long for the experienced Guptill, who hit 12 fours and seven six, to get into his stride.

He had a Richard Gleeson that cost 22 points, one shot on the midwicket for six, two shots on the ground for four and one short, slender leg shot.

Rory Kleinveldt of South Africa replaced Gleeson and he also waived an overcharge of 22 since Guptill went to fifty in 20 balls.

Guptill swept Graeme White, spinning from the left arm, up to the square leg, but only Seekkuge Prasanna crossed the boundary before a second lash brightened the deep midwicket.

Later, he drove Prasanna for six years and four lengths for four while Guptill went to 90 before Kyle Coetzer was driven straight for four and defeated midwicket for six to raise the drummer's century.

But trying to lift Gleeson half way, he was caught by Josh Cobb, but by that time the match was almost won.
