2007 World T20
India lifted the inaugural T20 in 2007 after defeating Pakistan in the final. 2011 ICC World Cup
India had a miserable race at its last ICC World Cup. They were beaten by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to withdraw from the tournament in the first round. This time, the World Cup was held in India and everyone was waiting for the hosts to raise the cup. India has qualified for the finals after beating Pakistan in the semifinal at Mohali. They were now competing against Sri Lanka in the final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Sri Lanka rolled on the ton of Mahela Jayawardene to post 274/6 in 50 overs. India then lost some quick wickets in the form of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag but Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli held up well.
