Review of Thackeray: Thakkeray is directed by Abhijit Panse.

The director Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Thackeray, was screened on the big screens on January 25 and the audience was about to see how the versatile actor presented Shem Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on celluloid

The Abhijit Panse's direction has created waves since the announcement of the project. Now, only time will tell if the biopic will live up to the hype. In a previous interview at indianexpress.com, Nawazuddin had stated that he did not want to open all his cards before the release.

"I felt a lot of pressure for almost a month. I was not myself, I was very nervous. I was not sure I could do justice to such a huge personality. However, with time and preparation for this role, things have become easier, "Nawazuddin told indianexpress.com during an interview.

Thackeray also presents Amrita Rao and Sudhir Mishra, among other key roles. The dialogues were written by Arvind Jagtap and Manoj Yadav with a screenplay written by the director himself.

After six years, actress Amrita Rao made her return to movies with Thackeray. Playing in the wife of Shiv Sena's chief, Meena Thackeray, Rao seems to suit him well. The film also features filmmaker Sudhir Mishra as Mastan. The bilingual biopic was created simultaneously in Marathi and Hindi.
