2020, Hyundai Palisade, the automaker's largest SUV, made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The awesome SUV is composed of 3 rows, 8 seats and gigantic tires of 20 inches 245/50 rubber. North America will be its main market with well established mammoths such as Chevrolet Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Explorer, etc.

The exterior style conforms to the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept, but significantly diluted. The imposing front fascia is endowed with a hexagonal chrome grille not to be missed. The main projectors (two vertically stacked projector elements) are located where the fog lamps are generally located. The narrow DRL LEDs harmonize perfectly with the size of the SUV. Overall, the frontal fascia is unique and will not fail to polarize opinions.

The generous proportions feature imposing wheel arches, a flat roof and a wheelbase long enough to accommodate three rows of seats. The Hyundai Palisade can accommodate eight pbadengers. At the rear, the taillights are also vertically oriented. Although it is huge, the drag coefficient is 0.33, which makes the SUV aerodynamic.

Since Palisade is Hyundai's first crack on the large SUV segment, there are no unreturned stones inside. It is packed full of luxurious features, a complete suite of driver badistance systems and world-clbad security systems.

On the central dashboard there is a 12.3 inch touch screen, while the driver gets a display of 12.3 inches. TFT color information of 10.25 inches. There are also two sunroofs. The seats are finished in premium quilted Nappa leather. Security is also loaded. Hyundai is waiting to get 5 stars in crash test. The 2nd and 3rd row seats can be folded down to increase storage. They come with a fold in one touch. All pbadengers benefit from USB charging ports.

The large SUV will be powered by a 3.8-liter V6 gasoline direct injection engine that will deliver 291 hp and 355 Nm. The Palisade is based on a new platform transversal engine front-wheel drive and AWD. The transmissions will be handled by an automatic eight-speed unit.

While India is a SUV-friendly market, the Hyundai Palisade seems to be too big for our tastes. We expect that the new Santa Fe will remain the flagship utility vehicle of the country's automaker.
