The second episode is rather a bridge between the bademblies of the (living) remnant who are preparing for the great war against the dead. Taking advance on the promo, the episode starts with Jamie Lannister who has to face Daenerys who reminds him of his actions (by killing their father the Crazy King). However, his brother Tyrion and Brienne de Tarth (who secretly love him) take his defense. Sansa forgave Jamie, which creates extra tension between the Queen Dragon and Lady Stark.
Meanwhile, Arya Stark meets Gendry to check her weapon that she asked the blacksmith to personalize for her. She asks him questions about the White Walkers and impresses Gendry with his skill.
Jamie visits Bran and apologizes for having pushed him to death the first season. He asks Bran why he did not tell others, what the third eye, Raven, told him that he (Jamie) would not have been part of the coming war. He had been murdered. In addition, on Jorah's advice, Dany calls it a truce with Sansa, declaring his love for Jon Snow and fighting alongside him for the war against The Night King. However, they are interrupted by Theon who returns to Winterfell and pledges to fight for the North.
Jon is reunited with Eddison Tollett, Tormund Giantsbane and Beric Dondarrion. Night King will pick him up and he must be served bait. Samwell Tarly asks Jon if he spoke to Dany about his true Targaryen heritage. Brienne, Tyrion, Jamie, Podrick Payne, Ser Davos and Tormund meet shortly before the battle.
For his part, Gendry reveals to Arya that he is the bastard of Robert Baratheon. The conversation leads Arya to ask Gendry when he has been with other women. This is in addition to the fact that they sleep together after a hot session. Sam offers his father's sword (Valyrian steel) to Jorah. Jon finally tells Daenerys the truth about his parents and that he is Aegon Targaryen. The war officially began, as we see the king's army of the night watching Winterfell from afar.
