Sanya Malhotra, Bollywood actress, had hypnotized the audience when she had been featured in Dangal by Aamir Khan. The actress recently recounted how she had finished auditioning for the role against 30 other people, but she was so confident that she would eventually defeat him. Dangal, released in 2016, had broken all records and was one of the most profitable films of all time in Bollywood.
Since its inception, Sanya has been featured in several blockbuster films, including those of last year Badhaai Ho has received praise from all sides. Recently, she spoke about her auditions and her pbadion for the theater that led her to her first film. In an interview with the blog online Humans Of Bombay Sanya said, "I was this kid who danced at every wedding. I did not need any incentive, just music! My parents took me to all family weddings because they knew I would dance hard. I liked it so much! I even danced in competitions and when I got to college, I was part of the choreography. We would spend 8 hours dancing every day! I was so pbadionate, but my real dream was to act. "
She went on to explain how she ended up on a famous reality show but was rejected. However, this acted as a drift for Sanya as this led to several auditions of commercials that put it on the map. "I have never revealed this to anyone at home. I thought I would be laughing or ridiculed. After all, it's a big dream. But I thought maybe I could play in the dance! So I applied for Dance India Dance and found myself in the top 100. But I was rejected because my background was not solid. That's when I thought I might not be playing at all. This show may have rejected me, but that's what brought me to Bombay. I had to try at least. So I told my dad to act. To my surprise, he supported me! So I started to audition, "she said.
" But it was difficult, I lived with six roommates and there were days when they all went to work and I stayed at home. It was demotivating and I often wanted to leave. But I remembered my dream of playing. Slowly, I learned the nuts and bolts of the company, made contact with the casting directors and played in commercials. There were still months when I did not receive a reminder and I was worried about the decrease in my bank balance. But I continued and I ended up doing 10 ads a year! I built my self-esteem and promised never to doubt myself, "she said.
Speaking of Dangal, she said, "I finally got my first audition – Dangal! I remember, I was against 30 other girls, but I knew I would be selected. Someone was taking a BTS video and I remember telling him, "I'm pakka in this movie!" I was so confident! And I have the role! I will never forget that feeling that I have always loved to play since I was a child and I am now here on the big screen. Since then, I've always loved every role I've played. I do not doubt myself. Plus, I know that I am still learning. Nobody is perfect, but that does not mean you can not try! It is only the beginning, there is still a lot to do. But I have my dance shoes and my boxing gloves- I'm ready!
Meanwhile, Sanya will be seen in the next film Photography in front of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and is scheduled for release this year.
