I would go to Ayodhya on November 25, says Uddhav Thackeray

MUMBAI: Is Shiv Sena ready to form an alliance with the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls? Shiv Sena's chairman, Uddhav Thackeray, did not answer that question as he was addressing his traditional rally in Dussehra on Thursday. However, he stated that he would travel to Ayodhya on November 25 to try to campaign for the construction of a Ram Temple on the disputed site, signaling that he was opening a new front to embarrbad the BJP.

"Every year a new Ravan is burned, but I would like to ask questions about the Ram Temple. When will it be built … Even Mohan (Bhagwat) echoes what we say. When will the Ram Temple be built? So many lives have been sacrificed for the construction of this temple, "said Thackeray.

President Sena said he would travel to Ayodhya to ask the government "tough questions" about Ram's temple problem and warned that the people's patience was exhausted.

"Does your mandir Ram promise the same lie as what you told people about depositing lakh into their accounts? Do not play with people's expectations and hopes, "he said.

The president of Sena said that it was unfortunate that even though Modi won the UP, he still did not go to Ayodhya even after being prime minister. Thackeray said that there was no wave of Modi currently, unlike 2014, and that the political situation in the country had changed.
