I would like to work with Ranveer Singh: Ananya Panday

Actors Tara Sutaria (23) and Ananya Panday (20), the two new faces of Dharma Productions, created their debut with the student of the year 2 (SOTY 2). Tara has always been an interpreter while Ananya grew up dreaming of being an actor. They talk about their respective experiences, upcoming projects and work with Tiger Shroff. Extracts:

Before SOTY 2, each of you had another plan. Tell us about the success of this movie.

Tara: I have always been a performer and my family has ensured that my twin sister Pia and I are rooted in the arts and studies. When I was a kid, I participated in theater, dance, and ballet, but the acting game was always different. I met Karan (Johar) at the end of my studies and I auditioned for the role of Mridula in SOTY 2. When I was offered the role, I was overwhelmed. Bollywood is a new world for me. That being said, I will surely continue to dance, ballet and play.

Ananya: Being an actor was my dream of a lifetime. However, I never thought I could do it so soon. I contacted Karan (Johar) two years ago for career advice. I had plans to go to the University of Southern California to study the media. However, when I told Karan that I had always dreamed of becoming an actor, he asked me to audition for SOTY 2. I postponed my studies twice, but I do not intend to go back because I live this dream and I learn so much. 19659007] Tell us about your experience working with Tiger Shroff

Tara: Tiger and I are both shy and reserved people and Ananya is the exact opposite. The fact that we both love dancing has allowed us to have good chemistry on the screen. He raised the level of performance when it was about actions and dance sequences. It was amazing how concentrated he was.

Ananya: It was the first time I saw an actor established on the plateaus, my father (Chunky Panday) never taking me to him. I made two incredible friends in him and Tara. They killed him with the dance sequences.

Could you talk a bit about your childhood?

Tara: I come from a Parsi family. We did not look too much at Bollywood. When I started watching movies, I looked up at Kangana Ranaut. She is a role model for many strangers like me as she only progresses on hard work and talent.

Ananya: I am amazed by Alia Bhatt. I have followed his career since his debut in the first movie SOTY. When she was on the set for the song Hook up with Tiger, I looked at her like a fangirl. Besides her, Kareena Kapoor is another name. His work in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) and Jab We Met (2007) as a Poo and Geet is one of my favorites.
How was it to be in a Dharma Productions film?

Tara: I think it's a dream come true for every millennium in a Dharma film. I immediately felt at home.
Ananya: I wanted to be an actor all my life and having a film about Dharma as the first film is the icing on the cake.

What did you get out of the movie? What are your upcoming projects?

Tara: I had teething problems but I'm hungry for more. I've finished my second film, Marjaavaan, with Siddharth Malhotra, due out on October 2nd, and I'm working on a third film. I would like to share a space with Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Ananya: When I arrived, I was very stuck and that is how Punit Malhotra (the director) did me various workshops. Once, he made me stand in a room and insulted him to the maximum. This has helped me give up my inhibitions and I feel that I am now ready to do more work. I would love to work with Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and my father, Chunky Panday, at some point.
