Andersson began working with the director at the age of 15, when she participated in several commercials for the Swedish soap brand Bris, directed by Bergman.

Since her film debut in 1951, she has continued to work and play in movies until in 2009, the year she was a victim of a stroke, paralyzing one side of his body.

His daughter Grede Dahlstrand said that Andersson had left a mark in the lives of many people.
