Veeru Devgan died in Mumbai on May 27 at the age of 85 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a letter of condolence to Veena Devgan, the wife of director of the late action film Veeru Devgan, stating that he was known for his "personal puzzle" and that his death is "a great loss for the industry". Veeru Devgan, born in Amritsar, carried out actions in such films as Kranti, Aaj Ka Arjun, Mr. Natwarlal, Mr. India, Shahenshah and Tridev. He has also worked on films starring his son Ajay, such as Ishq and Dilwale. Mr. Devgan also directed and produced Ajay, Manisha Koirala and Amitabh Bachchan in Hindustan Ki Kasam, his only work as a director in 1999.
