India maintained its dominance over rival Pakistan with a 3-1 win, which earned it their second consecutive victory at the Asian Champions League hockey tournament, which took place here Saturday. India defeated Pakistan 4-0 in last year's Champions Trophy earlier in the year, before clinching a 2-1 win over rivals at the Asian Games in Jakarta.

But it is Pakistan that knocked out the Indians by taking the lead from the first minute of the match thanks to the attack of Muhammad Irfan Junior.

However, India came back in the second quarter when skipper Manpreet Singh (24th minute) equalized for his team as the two teams were stuck 1-1.

India took advantage in the 33rd minute thanks to a shot by Mandeep Singh. The Indians extended their lead to 3-1 when striker Dilpreet Singh scored another goal on the pitch in the 42nd minute.

Subsequently, the Indians defended themselves in numbers as the Pakistani strikers failed to break through the bottom line of their rivals. It was India's second consecutive victory in the tournament after beating host Oman 11-0 in his first match.

Pakistan beat South Korea 3-1 in their opening match on Friday.

India will face Japan tomorrow while Pakistan will play against Oman on Monday.
