Shahid has just seen the release of the movie Kabir Singh in which he plays the lead role. The actor plays the role of an alcoholic surgeon and drug addict who drugs after an unpleasant breakup. You can see the actor drinking like a fish and snorting cocaine in the teaser.
The actor told Mumbai Mirror, "I do not approve of smoking at all. However, the role required it, as the protagonist used it to channel his anguish and anger. It was not easy and I smoked about 20 cigarettes a day. It would take me nearly two hours to take a shower and eliminate odors before I can go home to find my children. "

Shahid shot for the film in Delhi, Mumbai and Mussoorie. It was directed by Sandeep Vanga, who also directed the original in Telugu. The film stars Kiara Advani in the female lead role played by Shalini Pandey in the Telugu version.
