What's the Story?
One of the big surprises of the 2019 Rumble Royal was the entrance to Nia Jax in the Men's Royal Rumble, after she took the place of R-Truth as entry # 30.
The Wrestling Radio Observer Radio revealed the reason WWE decided to add former RAW champion to the Royal Rumble for men.
In case you do not know …
Nia Jax entered the Royal Rumble Women as the 29th of 30 competitions before staying in the Rumble for 11:59 was eliminated by Becky Lynch. Lynch finally won the Rumble after eliminating Charlotte Flair.
In the Men's Royal Rumble, Jax was the 30th and last participant after attacking R-Truth, who had earned the right to be the last participant in the Rumble. after winning the Mixed Match Challenge with Carmella
Jax eliminated Mustafa Ali from SmackDown, becoming the first Superstar to be eliminated in the men's and women's Royal Rumble. She was then eliminated by Rey Mysterio.
The Heart of the Problem
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the reason WWE chose to add Jax to the men's Royal Rumble match was WWE. The report said viewers were unhappy that men and women could not compete in the two seasons of the Mixed Match Challenge (randomly won by R-Truth and Carmella in December 2018).
This week on RAW WWE again teased the prospect of intergenerational games when Nia Jax entered the ring when Dean Ambrose had to say something and then threw him out of the ring.
And then?
For now, Jax and her tag team partner Tamina will focus on the new women's team titles after qualifying for last week's Elimination Chamber match on RAW.
