In the film, Siddhartha plays the character of Abhay, a ruffian Bihari who kidnaps the grooms and forces them to get married under the threat of weapons. Parineeti, meanwhile, plays the role of Babli, a daring and courageous girl, who is also romantic in the soul.

The author of the film, Sanjeev K Jha, said the film was based on the incidents of forced marriages in force in Bihar. The film shows the reality of forced marriages in Bihar, a practice in which the groom is kidnapped and forced to marry under the threat of a gun in order to escape the dowry. He also revealed that the story was taking place in Bihar and that rom-com was presenting its two main actors in a rustic avatar.

Sidharth was last seen in Aiyaary in which he played the role of a rogue agent. The film, also starring Manoj Bajpayee, has not found box office resonance. Parineeti was last represented in Kesari .
