Joe Jackson was dad's director before Matthew Knowles

Moments like Kris Jenner and Yolanda Hadid are all the rage at the moment. But some of the most successful artists and athletes of all time have been driven to fame by their controversial fathers. Richard Williams coached his daughters Venus and Serena into a level of athletics that the world had never seen before at tennis. And then there is Matthew Knowles, who can be credited with having made Beyoncé into the entertainment industry that she is. He oversaw the rehearsals, performances, voice training, and branding of his eldest daughter since she was a kid in the Girl's Tyme group. Despite the tumultuous relationship between Matthew and Tina (then Knowles, now Lawson) that eventually led to their divorce in 2011, his sense of talent was undeniable. He not only taught Bey much of what he knows about the industry, but his younger sister Solange and members of his Destiny's Child group (including Kelly Rowland) also benefited of his advice.
