The actor said that the film, written and directed by debutante Robbie Grewal, was one of his "most difficult" projects to date.
"This is one of my toughest roles to date – pushing my boundaries with different looks, accents, and characters.Robbie has made an original Indian spy thriller with an entertaining storyline and The reactions to the three "looks" have been published so far, it's great, I'm looking forward to hearing with the teaser, "said John in a statement.
"RAW", based on real events, tells the story of a true patriot, of a forgotten hero, of a man with many faces and names who lived in one goal: to serve his country.
The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Mouni Roy and Sikander Kher.
The film's release is scheduled for April 12.
