After his misfortunes of Parmanu, John Abraham again found himself in a delicate legal situation: a complaint was filed in Hyderabad against his next film, Satyameva Jayate, for hurting the feelings of the Shiite community
Syed Ali Jafri, who is the Secretary General of the BJP Minority Front, claimed that the trailer of the film portrays the religious procession of Muharram in a bad light, according to a report by National Herald.
He was quoted as saying, "There is a shot in the trailer that shows the Muharram festival and it represents a scene of Matam (self-flagellation). The actor is later shown committing a murder after Matam. It hurt our feelings. "
Jafri asked the local chapter of the Central Council for Film Certification (CBFC) to transfer the complaint to their head office in Mumbai. He demands that the scene be completely removed from the film, and threatened to organize protests and not let the film come out on August 15, if its demands are not met
