The directors of Kalank had a special screening Tuesday night in Mumbai and the young stars Ananya Panday, Khushi Kapoor, as well as the distribution of the film including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Aditya Roy Kapur attended. While Varun's girlfriend, Natasha Dalaal, was there to support him, Alia's boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, could not come because of his schedule. His parents – Soni Razdan and Mahesh Bhatt – hailed him. Ananya Panday, debuting with Student of the Year 2, and the daughter of the late Sridevi, Khushi Kapoor, were also spotted at the screening.

Director Shashank Khaitan was particularly impressed by the film.
