Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan began the first celebrations of the exceptional opening of Kalank with a party organized on Wednesday evening by Karan Johar. It was not that Alia and Varun, did the feast for Kalank for its stellar opening, but the guest list also included Karan Johar's good friend, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji. Alia collaborates with Ayan in Ranbir Kapoor's co-starring Brahmastra which will also be produced by Dharma Productions. Zoya Akhtar, who collaborated with Karan Johar for Lust Stories also celebrated with the others.
Part of the cast of Kalank] missed the party – Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. Kalank was opened to good reviews on Wednesday, including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Madhuri Dixit for their performances.
Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank takes place in the period before the independence of 1945.
