Manikarnika, the director of Kangana Ranaut: Jhansi's queen has entered the 100 crores club of RS and the actor-director can be justifiably proud of his achievement. "None of us expected to compete with Uri. It was another patriotic film that shared the same theme – fighting for the nation. We were in the third week, but the fight was tough.
Manikarnika was plunged into controversy, from the moment he was created and later, after his release, his co-director, Krish, a series of interviews, made few damning comments about Kangana. Reacting to this question and asking if it would take away any joy whatsoever, Kangana said that nothing succeeded as much as success and that it was a good fight in the end.

"Nothing succeeds as much as success. These people would have disavowed the film if it was bad. These are the people who abandoned him. [But] It's a good fight, where the actors and the team argue over who is the owner of the film. We were able to make a clean film, no one blamed me for distorting the story. Personally, there is no major controversy here. I do not see any negativity attached to this outside of the industry. I am satisfied with the public response. "
