Balaji Telefilms of Ekta Kapoor confirmed the release of his upcoming film Mental Hai Kya, starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao on July 26, in a box office clash with Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30
In a statement tweeted Tuesday by Ekta, the producer said the decision was made after taking "the recommendations of distributors, business badysts and a leading research team". The statement avoided mentioning the Super 30 directly, but noted that both teams were involved in the decision-making process and hoped that there would be no "slinging". "This is a call made by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji telefilms, which are considering better prospects for the box office film," the statement said.
Mental Hai Kya was originally scheduled for release on June 21, after opposing Shahid Kapoor. Kabir Singh. There is much talk of Mental Hai Kya clashing with another box office film on the 26th July.
