Takht tells the story of two brothers – Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb – and their sister Jahanara Begum . While Ranveer will play Dara Shikoh, Vicky will try the character of Aurangzeb. Anil would probably play Shah Jahan and Kareena could try the role of his daughter, Jahanara.
"Takht is the most exciting document I am thinking of directing. I am extremely pbadionate about the subject. I am obsessed with the Mughal era since always. This is the part of the story that fascinates me with its visual texture, its controversial content, political betrayal, love, lust, decadence, debauchery, madness, violence, everything. This time is exotic and it's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful, "said Karan, No Filter Neha, during Neha Dhupia's talk show.
He also stated that Takht would be the K3G of the Mughal era. "It's like the K3G of the Mughal era. But it's more extreme, there are more betrayals. He has the tropes of judicial politics. It's so rich in texture, "he said in an interview.
Karan's recent production company, Kalank, had a dismal box-office show and turned out to be a major disaster. Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur, the film has also been criticized by critics.
