Recently, the creations of Dharma Productions of Karan Johar caught fire and caused a great destruction of property. The fire took place at 2:30 in the morning and there would have been many artifacts and books that were destroyed in the fire.

At what might be called a shocking incident, the fire of Dharma Productions of Karan Johar in Bombay caught fire which occurred at 2:30 in the morning. The fire would have destroyed many properties, including several books, costumes and artifacts. The fire started early around 2:30 am and 12 fire engines were called to extinguish it before it could cause further destruction. The police inspector, Jyotsna Rasam, quoted by the Hindus, revealed: "An investigation is under way to identify the source of the fire." Chief Fire Officer PS Rahangdale added, "We have disconnected their power and water supplies, and action will be taken if there are breaches."

Dharma Productions is reported to have rented godown from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and it was mainly used to store all the important equipment used for filming, such as costumes, books and various artifacts. Upon arrival, the firefighters quickly turned on six water tanks and about eight fire trucks, then destroyed the level 111 support.

Karan Johar has made no official statements since the tragic incident. The materials that would have been greatly damaged during the incident would be properties of Dharma Productions, supposed to be used in the next films presented by the production house as Student of the Year 2, Brahmastra and Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht .
