Congressman, JN Ganesh, was suspended on Monday after a lawsuit for attempted murder was filed against him on the basis of a complaint by his colleague Anand Singh, being treated at Apollo Hospital after fighting at the Eagleton Resort in Bengaluru. Congressional lawmakers were transferred to the resort two days ago, apparently to protect them from BJP poaching attempts.

Singh, in the FIR, accused Ganesh of having badaulted him. According to reports, the MP for Kampi allegedly hit the head of Vijayanagara MP Anand Singh with a bottle of alcohol during a heated debate.

In a press release, the Pradesh Congress stated that serious allegations had been made about this incident, the orders of the KPCC President, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and the deputy of JN Ganesh, were suspended with immediate effect.

For a detailed investigation of the incident, a special committee was formed under the authority of Deputy Minister G, Mr. Parameshwara.

Congress, however, had denied the reports of a fight and claimed that Singh had been admitted to the hospital because of chest pain. Minister of Water Resources DK Shivakumar told reporters that the two MPs had been involved in a fight. "There was no fighting, no badault, no bottles of alcohol," said DK Shivakumar.

Singh, formerly part of the BJP group of brothers Bellary Reddy, initially stated that Shivakumar was part of the congressional rebels the BJP was attempting

However, Singh went to Shivakumar's home a day later and the duo appeared before the congress leader for Karnataka KC Venugopal. Singh reportedly informed the leadership that the rebellion had been instigated by Belagavi Congress leader Ramesh Jharkiholi, who is locked in a battle for himself with Shivakumar.
